The Second General Elections after the passage of the new constitution will start now. The election process would commence from March 4th 2026, to March 22nd 2026.
The Election Process has been revised to meet unexpected obstacles. It will consist of three phases. These are Nomination, Campaigning and Voting Phases. The Dates for the phases are as follows:
    March 4 - 7: Nomination
    March 8 - 11: Campaign
    March 12 - 14: Voting
    March 15 - 21: Counting & Verification
    March 22: Declaration of Result

The Elections are for the post of Members of Parliament. According to the formulae for seat calculation, contingent on the Third Constitutional Amendment, there are seven seats in the Jana Sabha with one seat reserved for the Prime Minister. The Ministers will be appointed by the Prime Minister, and the tenure of the PM, Cabinet and Parliament is eight months.

Eligiblity for Jana Sabha Member:
    (i)  Should be a Citizen

According to the constitution,
Article V: The Executive, Section 10 talks about the Prime Minister.
Article VI: The Legislature, talks about the Parliament (The Jana Sabha).

The Presidential Declaration of Emergency and Capacity Building Ordinance stands in force.

The Cabinet Committee on Security & The Third Constitution (Amendment) Ordinance, 2026, stands in force.
